Consolidated’s relationship with the client has been strong for 20+ years. Initially offering furniture fitting services the brief grew to include the logistics element of their moves and changes operation. This developed into incorporating construction management including acting as Principal Contractor on a number of high profile projects. Their storage business was won in open tender and Consolidated now manage in excess of a 250,000 cu ft of stored product. The fabric maintenance was seen as a natural fit to the operation so Consolidated undertook that function at the client request.
Most recently, and again in open tender, Consolidated has won the technology aspect of the moves and changes operation which includes all trading floor moves including. The team also build and deploy all new PCs across the back office environment.
In September 2008 Consolidated commenced a stringent tender process, progressing through four qualifying stages to the final round of presentations, which resulted in being awarded a 3-year Jobbing Builder and Fabrics contract, which commenced January 2009.
The contract ranges from minor building fabric repairs to re-planning of existing office space, regular maintenance services, building alteration work, painting and decorating, flooring and carpentry. A considerable number of projects have successfully been completed, on time and within budget. Consolidated have also been awarded additional individual contracts for much larger refurbishment projects.
One such project was the Gym Refurbishment. Refurbishment of reception, main gym, aerobic areas, managers office and shower and toilet areas. Works included flooring, decorating. tiling and installation of new shower cubicles, locker doors, seating, and mirrors. Inter-relating projects included the supply and installation of replacement lighting.
Consolidated were approached to assist with the re-stack project of three floors at the client’s London HQ. The scope of the services included building works, data cabling, electrical installation, AV media services, toilet refurbishment, storage & churns of 350 staff with full move management support
The primary objective was to assist with space planning to enable members of staff to be relocated internally which would address both the working groups alignments and to reduce their overall real estate space to reduce capital expenditure. With corporate branding changing the business it was also a good opportunity to upgrade office space to incorporate new breakout facilities, kitchen areas, new training rooms and to produce a more open plan environment.
A good working partnership was quickly established with the client providing clear direction & scope to deliver the work package. Consolidated acted as Principal Contractor throughout the entire process. The project was brought to a completion within budget and to programme.
